Connecting Laptop Computers with External LCD Monitors.

I have a work computer running Windows 7 which I want to access by a WIndows 10 laptop. The laptop has a high resolution screen. The work computer screen shows up in very small, unreadable type. I haven’t found any of the solutions discussed here actually solve the problem. Can someone direct me to a step-by-step solution? This thread is locked.
